My Sister

I felt the need to share with everyone how proud I am of my sister, Kathryn.

She has worked really hard to get where she is today. She finally had the means to open her own salon in a quaint little town. Her shop is located on one of their busy main streets.

A few months back she was feeling somewhat discouraged, but these past few weeks she has had many appointments throughout each day. Business has really been picking up for her, which has allowed her to really see her dream play out.

I wish that I could go in and have the works: haircut, highlight, etc. to help her out, but I know my constant prayers for her will be much more of a blessing!

I am so proud of you, Kathy! You did it!

Sam's love of trains - Part II

Back in one of the earlier blogs from this spring, we took a trip to the Sacramento Railroad Museum. Sam just couldn't stop talking about his experience there, so we had to find another place to visit.
Well, we were able to find another great spot for Sam to learn and enjoy this passion of his! Last weekend, we visited the Western Railway Museum. We got to take a train ride on an electric train that was built in 1904, and also were able to experience a ride on an authentic streetcar built in 1926. We had such a great time as a family, but as you can see in the pictures, Sam was the one who was truly fascinated!

Amazing Husband

Greg wanted to do something special for me and went ahead and planned a fabulous menu out for dinner. He collected recipes for an appetizer and a main course, made a grocery list, and headed out to make his purchases.

With all the sauces and marinades he had to create, it truly was a labor of love. It took him much of the afternoon into the early evening to prepare this wonderful dinner. After the boys were asleep, we had this amazing meal that he created. It was absolutely delicious, and the presentation on the table made it feel even more special!
