After patiently (which was really hard) waiting almost a week after we were told we would find out, we were given the news. Originally, the bases that were open to us could have sent us to either: Colorado, Nevada, Texas, Mississippi, or England. We were a bit disappointed to know that the east coast wasn't open, but we truly were just seeing it as an adventure and an opportunity to see another part of the country or Europe.
We have been praying really hard that God would put us exactly where He wanted us to be. At the start of this all, we definitely had desires of our own heart, but that quickly faded as we focused on His plan for us. As we looked back on all the past moves over the 10 years that we have had, we truly had a testimony of God's grace and faithfulness. He has always placed us in the right locations. It wasn't always apparent to us from the start, but as we look back we were so blessed. This gave us complete faith in where He would be sending us next.
How amazing He is. Last week, one of the Oral Surgeons @ Langley just so happened to decide that he wanted to separate from the Air Force therefore opening up a spot at the last minute!! Greg was immediately given that spot, b/c they knew we were originally hoping to go back east.
God is just so good! We are so thankful that we can be back within driving distance and such short flights to each of our families. We will also be able to reconnect with some old friends that we have missed greatly while on the west coast.
We have had an amazing time out here in California. I have some wonderful friends who have been like sisters to me. Our boys have made some great friends as well, and as a family we have shared some special memories here. Our time here in California will always hold a special place in our hearts.
We just feel so blessed that God has chosen that we be close to family. We look forward to all the new memories that we will make.
