A years worth of updates...

Wow...I can hardly believe that it has almost been a whole year that has passed and I am just finally getting a chance to sit and update our family blog!
It has been a wonderful year full of exciting things. I will try to highlight the past year with a "Top Ten" list format and include a glimpse of some of those updates with pictures.
Sam just recently turned 7, and Ethan turned 5 at the end of the summer. Both the boys love school, are playing soccer (which yes, is still going on...we seriously have the LONGEST soccer season ever!), and are growing so fast that we are going through clothing at an incredible rate these days!
****
1.) Father's Day surprise - we went on a schooner around the coastal area of our town.
2.) Outer Banks, NC - our favorite vacation spot! We try to go once or twice a summer since we have moved here. We love it there and always enjoy great quality time as a family.
3.) The boys visited the home of the Grave Digger monster truck on our way home from the Outer Banks, NC. They even got to ride in one...a child-safe version of a ride!
4.) 4th of July - we went to DC and celebrated with Greg's brother and his family. We had a wonderful time and visited the National Zoo, as well as the Air & Space Musuem.
5.) Pop, Grammie, & Uncle Dan came for a visit in July. We attempted our annual crabbing trip just down the road from our house. We had no luck with the crabs, but we did manage to accidentally catch a snapping turtle!!
6.) The boys saw their 1st RED SOX GAME at Camden Yards in Baltimore. It was a perfect 1st game...high scoring and a fast inning game. The weather was the only challenge...it was well into the triple digits with the heat index! (pic of boys was in front of a "photo-op" stop outside of stadium...we are thinking of using a family pic at the game for a Christmas card.)

7.) We went to Maine to visit my family. The visit included a trip to an amusement park, a visit to Pemaquid Point Lighthouse, a wonderful lobster meal on the wharf, and the boys mini-fishing trip.
8.) Papa (my dad) taught both the boys how to fish and each of them caught their first fish!
9.) Sam started first grade this fall, and Ethan is in Pre-K.
10.) Sam was recently awarded the Good Character award at school, and Ethan will be performing at the Thanksgiving Feast at school reciting a portion of a poem.
